I’m sure most of you know me already, or at least something about me. For those who don’t, my name is Kay Dear, born in Bedford, UK, and currently living in Nottingham.
In my spare time, I volunteer for My Sight Nottinghamshire, our local society for the blind, answering the telephone and doing other reception and admin duties asked of me.
I’m also a board member of the British Computer Association for the Blind, known as BCAB and a member of other campaigning committees too.
My hobbies include swimming, reading, attending social groups, meeting new people, a small bit of television watching and using the computer. But one of my biggest hobbies is listening to music, which you’ll learn more about shortly.
From as young as I can remember, probably around the age of 3 or 4, I was introduced to music. My parents had quite a varied taste of music, Kate Bush, Genesis, to more of the rocky bands such as Queen and Led Zeplin, so my tastes are quite wide now too.
I like a mixture of rock, pop, some classical music, folk and some new age.
